About this directory
What this is
Phoenix, Arizona Hvac Contractor Guide is an independent directory covering 448 HVAC contractor businesses across Phoenix, Arizona and the surrounding valley. It exists for homeowners and property managers who need to hire someone for AC repair, furnace work, duct service, or a full system replacement and want a straight comparison of who’s actually operating in the area and how they perform.
We also generate enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your request to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for that introduction. The quote page spells this out in full. That business arrangement runs alongside the directory but never touches how a contractor is scored or ranked.
Where the listing data comes from
Every profile is built from public business records and a synthesis of recent Google review activity, meaning we summarize patterns in ratings, volume, and recency rather than copy review text. If you want to read what customers actually wrote, we link straight out to the business’s Google listing so you can see the source yourself.
Listings refresh on a monthly cycle, and each profile carries a “last verified” stamp showing when we last checked it against current data. That stamp is your signal that a listing is being actively maintained rather than left to go stale.
A contractor can request corrections to its own facts: address, phone number, hours, service areas, license details. What a business cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking position. Those come out of our process, not from the businesses being scored.
How rankings are earned
Rank order is generated from a published rubric applied consistently to the data we collect: things like review volume, rating trends, responsiveness signals, and business longevity. Nothing here is pay-to-rank. The full breakdown of factors and weighting is on our methodology page, so you can check our work rather than take our word for it.
When sponsorship is present on a page, it’s labeled “Sponsored” and displayed in a clearly separate section from the earned ranking. A sponsored placement never bumps a contractor up the actual rankings or changes its score.
Who’s behind it
This directory is published by Shawn Goff, who built it to give Arizona homeowners a faster way to find heating and cooling contractors worth calling, using verified information instead of guesswork. Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Diego Ibrahim, Research Lead, who maintains the rubric and reviews how it’s applied across listings.
