What is a MERV rating?
MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) is a standardized scale from 1 to 20 that rates how effectively an air filter traps dust, pollen, and other particles while measuring the resistance it creates to airflow.
The MERV scale quantifies how well an air filter catches particles between 0.3 and 10 micrometers in size. Ratings run from 1 (lowest efficiency) to 20 (highest efficiency).
